The University of Melbourne

Subject Coordinator - Ted Clark

As per the subject outline 'Designing for Flexible Delivery' identifies basic software and hardware solutions to industry and training needs. Criteria for the use of software for training purposes are developed. It provides strategies for the effective integration of a range of media into training content as class, world wide web, and multimedia presentations.

Here's what I wrote on the Online Discussion: "Flexible delivery of teaching can be defined as the provision of learning and assessment opportunities in modes which serve to increase the students control over when, where, how and at what pace they learn".

The full text can be viewed from the University of Queensland website at: http://www.tedi.uq.edu.au/conferences/flex_delivery/Purdie.html

That statement describes what Flexible Delivery is, but our particular subject deals with 'designing' for flexible delivery. So I think that is where all the options of utilising various forms of electronic media comes in, which is the heart of this subject.

Now that I've started my Blog, I need to complete some readings into this subject so I can actively and positive participate and contribute to the discussions.
